Sweepstake boosts Olympians with Sh10m

Kenya Charity Sweepstake has boosted National Olympic Committee –Kenya (NOC-K) with Sh10 million towards preparation of Team Kenya to represent the country during the 2012 London Olympics.
Nock was handed over Sh1m cheque on Tuesday with the remaining Sh9m to be given days before Kenyan athletes depart to London.
At the same time, Kenya Charity Sweepstake launched four categories of lotteries that would help in supporting Team Kenya towards the global games.
They unveiled tickets to be sold in dominations of Sh40, Sh50, Sh100 and Sh200.There is the lucky three instant prize where players will select three lucky numbers between 000-999 with weekly draw of Sh50,000 and a jackpot prize worth Sh2m.
The Lotto category involves selecting tickets with six correct numbers between 1-36 whose jackpot is also Sh2m and lastly, the Sherekea Olympic ticket with also a prize value of Sh2m.
“The tickets will be on sale countrywide and will be available from Kenya Charity Sweepstake vendors and Uchumi Supermarket,” said Kenya Charity Sweepstake Public Relations Manager Peter Njoroge.
Nock Chairman Kipchoge Keino lauded the lottery firm for the noble initiative that will see Kenyan athletes participate in London comfortably.
“The funds will help with the final preparations for our athletes and I am appealing to the public to buy all the tickets and other products that are offered by Kenya Charity Sweepstake so that they too can have a chance to win and improve their lives,” said Keino.
Last month, Noc-k got Sh35m from National Social Security Fund and the Government has injected Sh200m.
